As I noted in my Chairman’s Report, the board have been concerned with regard to the support in the village for the Trust. Information distributed to members generally receives little feedback so it is difficult to ascertain what members would be seeking from the Trust in terms of developments.

Chairman’s Report

In many respects this has been a frustrating year, from our search for community space through the Pictish Stones and the pathways project, to our leafleting campaign we seem to have been beset by obstacles to progress.

Paths for walkers and cyclists

Paths for walkers and cyclists

We have recently added a section to the website giving information about routes around the village which are accessible to walkers and cyclists.

This includes routes which link to other settlements such as Huntly, local routes around the village and also part of a long distance route called the Kingdom of the Picts Trail.

Community Action Plan survey

Community Action Plan survey

Following discussions with Marr Area Partnership we are trying to complete an Action Plan for Rhynie. To do this we need to get an idea what residents would like to see for the village. So we have prepared a questionnaire which would like people to complete. This can now be done on-line.

Introduction to our Blog

Introduction to our Blog

In this first posting I'm going to talk about communication. It has been suggested often that we should try to improve communication with our members and we have given a lot of thought to how we might manage this.

We send out occasional newsletters, circulated to members for whom we have good contact addresses. We will try to increase the frequency of these, in the meantime, all previous newsletters are available for downloading from this website. Go to the 'Members' pages where they are all listed.

We can also ensure that minutes of our Board meetings are made available to keep members abreast with things we are doing.
